Delivering a Free Digital Skills Training Program to Local Indigenous Women in London, Ontario

I am so thrilled to be finally sharing Nanda at Nokee Kwe! I have been working with the teams at Nokee Kwe and RoboGarden Inc. to bring this digital training program to Indigenous women in London, Ontario at no cost. I hope that you will join me in promoting it to your networks, Miigwetch to all who were involved!

Please find the press announcement from RoboGarden Inc., below:

RoboGarden is thrilled to announce that we have teamed up with Nokee Kwe to deliver a free digital skills training program to local Indigenous women in London, Ontario.

Established in 1978, Indigenous-led Nokee Kwe is an Employment and Education Centre that helps individuals find rewarding and fulfilling employment opportunities, improve literacy and develop the skills needed in today's workforce. They are leaders in holistic, comprehensive education and employment services for all, particularly across London’s Indigenous communities.

Through this partnership, RoboGarden will deliver a free digital skills training program with a focus on Indigenous women in the London area. This program is called Nanda at Nokee Kwe, which means, “seek; look for” in Anishnaabemowin, and will teach coding skills from a beginner to professional level, using gamification to create an interactive and fun learning environment.

This initiative is working to address the larger systemic issue of coded bias in technology. By training and introducing Indigenous women into nontraditional careers, we can help support diversity everywhere in the tech industry and beyond.

Nanda at Nokee Kwe will be open for signup at nokeekwe.ca.
