Roots and Ray, a Design Internship Project with Student RGD

In Summer 2020, the RGD launched a new format of their Mentorship Program where Students worked on a portfolio project assigned by and under the creative direction of professional Designers.

In the first-ever Internship edition of the Mentorship Program, I had the opportunity to Mentor Nikki Cohen, Student RGD through a re-design project that focussed on Nikki’s own entrepreneurial vision.

The project was based on a fictional re-brand of a client/friend of mine, Rooted Plant World, an online indoor plant retailer.

The project was to re-name and design a marketing campaign for the opening of a brick-and-mortar store. Nikki created a new name and designed a brand refresh and a flexible marketing campaign to target new millennial clients.

This project included motion graphics, a sustainable packaging component, and a web design mockup. I am proud of Nikki’s hard work in creating this brand which is now ready for a real-world launch.
